For home buyers who have had a bad experience with a real estate agent, it usually boils down to a few recurring themes: They felt pressured to buy too soon, their agent told them to not sweat inspection items, they felt they didn't see enough homes or receive enough information to make an informed decision, or their agent wasn't available in a timely manner to show them a home that sold before they had a chance to see it.
Maker agents are different. You won't feel pressured to buy a home unless it's perfect. You'll have expert guidance from our agents and an extensive network of home inspectors, lenders and other professionals we can refer you to if needed (though you're of course free to choose your own).
For added assurance, we don't require buyers to sign exclusive representation agreements unless we write an offer on your behalf. If you're not happy with the level of service you're receiving, you can leave with no penalties or hard feelings.
How many houses will you show me?
As many as it takes.
What if the house I like is listed For Sale By Owner?
We show "FSBO" homes all the time and it usually isn't a problem.
Will you find houses for me or can I do searches on my own?
Both. We will set up a "cart" in our MLS portal system and auto emails so you'll receive new homes each morning or evening that match your criteria. In the portal, you can mark which houses you like and want to see. You can also send us the addresses of homes you find elsewhere.
How much does buyer representation cost?
In 99.9 percent of cases, our commission is fully covered by the sellers. We don't charge any broker admin fees (most brokers charge $250-400).
What if I want to see a house listed by a different brokerage?
We belong to the NorthstarMLS system and will show you any home listed in that system. The NorthstarMLS system is used by all of the major players in the Twin Cities.
